The Canadian Home Builders’ Association New Brunswick (CHBA-NB) is the service organization responsible for the delivery of the EnerGuide Rating Service and R-2000 Residential Energy Efficiency Programs in New Brunswick and PEI. The Association is seeking to increase its consultant base to meet the growing demand for the request for Energy Efficient Consultants in the residential construction sector by training EnerGuide Rating Service Energy Evaluation Consultants.

EnerGuide Rating Service Energy Evaluators who become licensed and retained by CHBA-NB must be organized to work as independent contractors. Work will be sub-contracted to the evaluator by CHBA-NB and evaluators are required to work from their own workspace.

Candidates must submit a resume adequately demonstrating experience and training in the following areas:

1. Residential Construction;
   
2. Heating and Cooling System Technologies;
   
3. Knowledge of Computer base software programs;
   
4. Able to read plans and be able to calculate building measurements.

In addition to the above demonstrated competencies, all candidates must take the following training:

1. Attend and successfully complete the Energy Efficient Home Construction Workshop (formerly the R-2000 Builders’ Workshop) - Available through CHBA-NB;
   
2. Attend and successfully complete the EnerGuide for New Houses Evaluation Workshop - Available through CHBA-NB;
   
3. Complete a minimum of 7 Plan Evaluations under the guidance and training of a licensed EnerGuide for New Houses Evaluator prescribed by the Association;
