
Claudia Simmonds celebrates eight years as Chief Executive Officer of the
Canadian Home Builders' Association New Brunswick in May 2010. Claudia has
enjoyed more than 20 years in non-for-profit association management beginning
her career as Recreation Director for the Hamlet of Norman Wells, NWT, followed
by serving as the 1st Executive Director of the "new" Big Brothers & Big Sisters
Association of Lloydminster, Alberta. She was the founding Executive Officer of
the Appraisal Institute of Saskatchewan and moved to New Brunswick in 1998 to
serve as the Executive Director and Registrar of the New Brunswick Association
of Real Estate Appraisers. During her tenure with CHBA-NB, she has also served
as the Executive Officer for the Canadian Home Builders' Associations of Saint
John, Fredericton and most recently, Prince Edward Island.
The primary objective
for Claudia and her team of professionals is to promote residential construction
excellence in New Brunswick and to promote the CHBA-NB to consumers, members and
potential members. Through on-going program development and initiatives Claudia
enjoys a beneficial and fulfilling career with the Association.
Claudia Simmonds
is an Honorary Member of the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers
and was recently awarded the Dave Stupart (Executive Officer of the Year) Award
by the Canadian Home Builders' Association in March 2010.
Claudia was raised in
St. David's, Newfoundland and is intensely proud of her east coast heritage.
